A photographer shooting a large sailing yacht from a fast chase boat

Photographing boats since 2006 Β· Cowes, Isle of Wight

One camera, one boat,
and whatever the day gives.

Launches, brokerage sets, racing and interiors for shipyards, brokers and owners. Roughly ninety shoot days a year, about half of them abroad, all of them mine β€” nobody is sent in my place.

Boats, and the people who build them

Working with me

What I will and will not do to a photograph

01

I will not retouch a boat into a better boat

Dents come out of the topsides in the polishing, not in the file. Fairing shadows, corrosion streaks and a tired teak deck stay in. Two brokers a year go elsewhere over exactly this, and the buyer who flies out is never surprised at the passerelle.

02

I shoot on your schedule, not the light's

The lift is booked for eleven and the sky is flat white, so we shoot at eleven. If the day is genuinely unusable I come back at my own cost rather than send you something I would not sign β€” five return trips last year, none of them invoiced.

03

The usage is yours, in writing, for good

One fee, unlimited use, no renewal in three years and no per-territory extras when a distributor picks the set up. A library licensing the same frames repeatedly would earn considerably more; this way you can hand the folder to your agency and forget me.

04

I come the day before and charge for one day

A recce for tide, sun angle, quay clutter and which way the crane swings. It is a day of my life on every job and it does not appear on the invoice, because turning up cold is how you get four usable frames instead of forty.

β€œHe told us the hull was not ready to be photographed and to give him a fortnight. We had a press date, we argued, we waited. The set ran in nine titles and not one of them asked us for anything else.”

Everything above is a demonstration

The business, the listings and the reviews are invented β€” this page exists to show what someone could put on marineimages.com. The domain itself is genuinely for sale.

Domain for sale

marineimages.com is available

You are looking at a demonstration, not a real business. We built it to show what this domain could carry β€” the company, the stock and the reviews are invented.

  1. 1

    Make an enquiry

Tell us who you are and what you would use it for. It costs nothing and puts you under no obligation.

  2. 2

    Agree a price

We reply with a price or consider your offer. Most conversations are settled within a couple of working days.

  3. 3

    Pay into escrow

Funds go to a licensed third-party escrow agent, never straight to us. They hold the money until the transfer is confirmed.

  4. 4

    Take ownership

We push the authorisation code to your registrar. You control the domain, usually within a week; escrow then releases the funds.

The demonstration site is not part of the sale by default β€” but if you want it, say so in your enquiry and we will include the source.
